Frontier Markets

Back when our firm founders began practicing, references to “emerging markets” tended to refer to investment disputes in more developed economies, such as Mexico or Hong Kong. In contrast to many other firms, some of our earliest cases involved airline disputes in Cameroon, hostile takeovers in Venezuela, and telecommunications ventures in post-Soviet Georgia, among many other matters in the rawest of frontier markets.

To this day, Amsterdam & Partners LLP is committed to its work on the cutting edge of our clients’ expansion into territory that is not yet familiar. Our firm, which has represented multiple current and former heads of state from Thailand to Turkey to Zambia, has deep knowledge and experience in resolving disputes in developing markets, navigating complex regulatory and compliance issues, and delivering country- and region-specific strategies to ensure our clients’ continued success and protection of investments.

Our frontier markets practice is focused on helping clients penetrate new markets, manage risks, and build essential relationships to grow into the next phase of development. Amsterdam & Partners LLP helps clients use the law strategically as an instrument to grow their business and safeguard against unwanted intervention.
